Jill Proudfoot, M.A., LPCC
Jill is committed to helping children and teens heal from many types of traumatic events and specializes in working with parents and children in healing wounds from childhood attachment trauma. Jill believes that our past is lived out in our future. This belief fuels her desire to work with children and teens in an effort to help clear the roots of trauma early on to help them have a brighter future where they are able to be their true authentic selves.
Jill is a child trauma specialist who treats children and teens ages 2-14 years-old. She obtained her Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling at Bowling Green State University. She is EMDR certified, play therapy trained, and a Level 1 trained Sensorimotor Psychotherapist.
Jill uses EMDR therapy as the foundational approach in her treatment with children and teens and adds adjunct approaches such as, play therapy, sand tray therapy, art therapy, sensorimotor psychotherapy, and parts therapy.
She obtained advanced EMDR training for children and youth with focus in attachment trauma and complex trauma and dissociation under the direction of world renowned therapist and lecturer, Ana Gomez. Jill received training with the Michigan Play Therapy Academy, Playful EMDR LLC Training and Consulting team, and the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute founded by Pat Ogden.
Jill enjoys the innocence, joy, and honesty that children can carry in their stories and admires their courage in playing out these stories within play therapy. She is passionate about providing opportunities and access routes for children and teens to express themselves and has a desire to help them voice their stories and heal from their wounds.
